Before/After School Programs

Promoting health, safety, and further learning, the Las Vegas area contains more than a few different before and after school programs. Depending on your family’s schedule, one of these programs may be right for your child.

Safekey

Safekey is a before and after-school program for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. The program was designed for children whose parents or guardians are working before or after school hours.

At several area schools, teachers or other educators administer the program, which provides study sessions and assistance with homework. Recreational activities are also offered, including arts and crafts, theater, dance and cooking. A nutritional snack is provided daily. Most schools conduct Safekey programs before school from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and after school from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The program provides a safe, recreational environment, a homework period, a session for arts, crafts and games, special event/community events, a nutritional snack, and examples of healthy lifestyles through the inclusion of 60-minutes of moderate physical activity or play per day. lasvegasnevada.gov/find/21399.htm
